Southbank Court/Ashdown Close, Southport – This Homes and Communities Agency funded scheme was completed in October 2010 and consists of 18 x two-bed apartments for social rent on a disused tennis club site.  The homes are situated in a small area of land to the rear of existing residential development.   The development offers a contemporary feel with the screened cedar board façade acting as an interesting face to the brick/rendered building and providing privacy to the balconies behind.

Protruding window pods give a futuristic look to the building and full height glazing to the living space gives a spacious feel and fantastic views of communal gardens front and rear.

The scheme was developed to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 which ensures the properties are designed/built to meet certain standards in a number of categories (eg. energy, water, materials) and it benefits from electronic gates, parking, covered cycle storage and drying spaces within the communal gardens.
