The Neighbourhood Fund is a substantial pot of money controlled by our tenants and residents to support projects and initiatives in the local area. It is the central feature of our Local Offers to our customers.
We set up the Fund to make sure that our customers benefited directly from the cost efficiencies we made in the business during 2009/10.
The total pot of money is split between the different areas where we work based on the number of homes we own in each area.

The Neighbourhood Fund was first made available in 2010/11 and totalled £200,000. Tenants used a 'Dragons' Den' process to decide between competing projects and in the end decided to support over 70 projects across the North West with grants ranging in size from £100 to £5,000. We announced the 2010 Neighbourhood Fund Results just prior to Christmas 2010.
The Neighbourhood Fund ran again in 2011/12 and totalled £200,000. Again, tenants used a 'Dragons' Den' process to decide between competing projects and have supported over 140 projects detailed in our 2011 Neighbourhood Fund Results which were published in November 2011.

Applications for the 2011/12 Neighbourhood Fund closed at the end of June 2011 and the 2011 Neighbourhood Fund Results were announced in October and November.
We intend to run the fund again in 2012/13.
No idea is too big or too small. In 2012, we will advertise once again for applications from resident associations, community groups, charities and individuals with great ideas.
