As part of our Resident Involvement Framework, we currently recognise six local area panels across the North West.  These are regularly held meetings of our residents that discuss our performance, neighbourhood projects and much more including the development of our Local Offers.

We have set up six Local Area Panels throughout the North West which are open to residents in the following areas:

• TARP (Tenants and Residents Panel):  CCH residents living in Chorley Borough
• Wigan and Leigh Area Panel:  AHA residents living in Wigan & Leigh area
• ANAP (Adactus North Area Panel):  AHA residents living in North Manchester
• SNAP (South Neighbourhood Area Panel):  AHA residents living in South Manchester
• Neston Forum:  AHA residents living in The Wirral
• SCIP (Sefton Customer Involvement Panel):  AHA & BHA residents living in Sefton 

Residents who attend Local Area Panels agree with Adactus staff what they intend to discuss. The issues vary, but Local area panels generally discuss:

• What’s happening locally with the service they receive.
• Upcoming initiatives.
• Scrutiny of Local services
• Comment on Adactus500 Scrutiny Panel reports
• Resident Group activity.
• The Local Offer (an agreement between residents and Adactus on specific services delivered locally).
• Board decisions.

Some, but not all Local Area Panels are keen to scrutinise both local issues and issues that all affect all tenants. Local Area Panels can opt to collectively review online reports produced by the centralised Adactus500 Scrutiny Panel and make comments to be considered by the Scrutiny Panel.

Local Area Panels can scrutinise local issues through the monitoring of the Local Offer.

Call for Action 

They can also ask for a head of service to attend a meeting to account for a particular service. If Local Area Panels members are dissatisfied with the response given, they can refer the matter for scrutiny via a "Call for Action". To ensure an issue suggested as a Call for Action is of relevance to other residents in the area, the support of at least 50% of Adactus500 respondents from their local area will be required.

If a Call for Action is supported in this way, our Internal Affairs team will investigate and report back to the panel. The panel will then give their views on the report which will be forwarded for consideration by the Senior Management Team. If a panel remains dissatisfied with the response from the Senior Management Team, the matter would be referred to board for further consideration.

Local Area Panels are limited to one ‘Call for Action’ running at any one time.
