Beech Housing Association was formed in 1983. It is a non-charitable Industrial and Provident Society and a housing association.
It is a member of the Adactus Group Structure and a subsidiary of Adactus Housing Group Ltd.

Formed in 1983 as a subsidiary of Family Housing Association (Manchester) Ltd to specialise in the development and sale of shared ownership housing.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s the Association's activities concentrated in Manchester and Trafford.
In 2002, the Association accepted a transfer of engagements from Palatine Home Ownership Ltd which expanded its area of operation into Lancashire.
In 2006, the Association accepted a transfer of engagements from Quest Housing Association Ltd. For the first time this added rented properties into the Association's portfolio.
In 2009, the Association entered into a management agreement with Chorley Community Housing Ltd. This agreement placed the management of the ex-Quest properties with CCH.

The board of management
Beech Housing Association Ltd is governed by a voluntary board of management comprising people with substantial experience in housing, finance, business and regeneration.
The board has a minimum size of five members and a maximum size of 12.
The board meets quarterly to make key decisions, help shape the direction of the company and monitor its performance.

The executive
The day-to-day running of the Association is the job of the Group's senior team of directors led by the group chief executive, Paul Lees.

As a housing association Beech is regulated by the Homes and Communities Agency which took on this function from the Tenant Services Authority in April 2012.

Scope
The Association draws on central services provided by the Adactus Housing Group. These services include:
- The Connect contact centre
- Tenancy management
- Income collection
- Lettings
- Development
- Finance
- IT
It retains a focus on neighbourhood investment and resident consultation.
Size and location
The Association employs no staff directly and manages over 1,200 homes across the Northwest of England.
