  • Miles Platting Tenant Satisfaction Survey 2009

    30 June 2009

    30 June 2009

In May and June of this year we sent our Annual Tenant Satisfaction Survey to all our tenants in Miles Platting (we will be surveying our other Adactus tenants later in the year so don’t worry if you were not surveyed).

We had an overwhelming response and we would like to say a HUGE thankyou to each and every person who returned their completed survey. The results were really encouraging. Here’s just a ‘snippet’ of what tenants told us:

    - More than four fifths are satisfied with the overall service we provide and almost two thirds feel we’ve improved since last year!

    - Almost all are satisfied with the service they receive from our staff and four fifths are happy with our repairs and maintenance service!

    - More than half the tenants feel their area is changing for the better and satisfaction with the neighbourhood is increasing year on year!

As promised, the lucky winners were drawn out of the hat from the returned responses after the competition deadline, all of whom will have received a letter to inform them of their £100 prize, which they can choose to receive either in the form of shopping vouchers or a donation to a charity of their choice:

Mr Daniel Worthington                       Mr Richard Fryer
    Ms Sharon                                        M Donoghue
Mrs Sheila Shaw                               Mr Kenneth Cunningham
Ms Helen Corry                                 Mrs Ann McDonagh
Mrs Mavis Barker                              Ms Anne Moore
    Mr Mabebenga

Well done to everyone who was ‘picked’ and again thankyou to everyone who responded. Look out for the overall summary results to be published later in the year within the Miles Platting newsletter.

  • Renaissance Consortium wins national Regen awards.

    10 June 2009

    10 June 2009

The Renaissance Consortium is celebrating winning two national Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) Academy Awards for its apprentice scheme in Miles Platting, east Manchester.

The training scheme, set up to give local people the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications, won the Skills for Better Places category of the national awards organised by the HCA, the government’s national housing and regeneration organisation and judged by a panel of industry experts.

In addition, the Miles Platting apprentice programme beat all the other award winners – including housing associations, local authorities and developers – to take the overall Co-operative Award for Excellence at the awards ceremony held at the Roundhouse, north London.

Since its launch in August 2007, the Renaissance apprenticeship scheme has provided employment for 18 locally recruited trainees working on the Miles Platting housing regeneration scheme. The regeneration programme is being carried out by the Renaissance Consortium – which is made up of housing regeneration specialist Lovell, Adactus Housing Association and Investors in the Community – on behalf of Manchester City Council and New East Manchester and in partnership with Manchester College.
