Local offers are launched today, 31 March 2011. Our local offers are our agreement with you on how to tailor services that we are delivering in your area.

Offers have been developed around Home (repairs services and quality of accommodation and external areas), Neighbourhood (anti social behaviour and estate management) and Tenant Involvement and Empowerment (communication, customer care and involvement in decision making). The offers were devised in partnership with residents so they are based on evidence of what is important to you.

In September and October 2010, Connect staff asked over 400 tenants from across the Adactus Housing Group what our priorities should be in their area for the next 12 months. This was followed by more detailed discussions to explore the priorities with over 100 residents at our resident conference in October 2010.

We then consulted with the local area panels to define how services would be tailored, how they would be measured and monitored.

The offers aim to give real influence to residents and are bolstered by money. The Neighbourhood Fund will be operating again from April 2011 and has made available over £200,000 to fund community projects and improvements across the North West. The fund is divided into geographical areas and bids are judged by residents who decide how this money is spent.

The offers will also have bite. They will be reviewed by local panels on a regular basis. The panels will scrutinise performance and will be able to raise non-compliance with senior management and the Board, requiring an action plan to be in place within three months and evidence of improvement within an agreed timescale.

The offers are open to review by the panels throughout the year and will be formally reviewed on an annual basis. Thank you to anyone who contributed to the local offers and special thanks to the area panels who worked hard in refining and defining the offers.
