Jigsaw Foundation funding for Pennington House

Jigsaw Foundation has awarded £2,400 worth of funding to the Pennington House Residents’ Group. The funding will enable the residents to have valuable social evenings and trips out throughout the year. Each outing will have food, coaches and entertainment provided at no cost to the residents.

Whilst most residents at the scheme enjoy a lovely social life, some do not get that involved in social activities. The funding aims to encourage those who don’t socialise to get more involved and form stronger bonds with their neighbours.

The residents plan to have five or six trips to the seaside which will include visits to Llandudno, Lytham St Anne’s, Southport, Cleveleys and Blackpool.

These outings prove very popular with over 30 residents from Pennington House attending. The trips are especially enjoyable for the residents who rarely get out for any length of time.

Throughout the year, the residents’ group also do their own fundraising through bingo sessions, coffee mornings and raffles. They also raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Jigsaw Foundation is our exciting fund that supports local projects run by charities, resident and community groups, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and partner agencies.

We are now accepting applications for funding from April 2020. If you think a project may be eligible for funding, visit Jigsaw Foundation. Alternatively, you can get in touch by emailing the Jigsaw Foundation team.
