The Adactus500 was launched in February 2011 and achieved its first-year membership target of 220 people in June 2011.
The membership was renewed in February 2012 and stood at 259 for the 2012/13 financial year.
Membership of the Adactus500 was limited to 500+ residents per year, but following comprehensive consultation with residents, from April 2013 the Adactus500 is now open to any tenant or leaseholder of Adactus Housing Association, Beech Housing Association or Chorley Community Housing.
As at July 2016, total membership now stands at 1307 current residents.
Up until July 2016 we have carried out 185 activities and received 10,424 submissions from 1060 different residents.
In July 2016, the Adactus500 won "Excellence in Digital Involvement" at the TPAS National finals.
Any tenant or leaseholder of Adactus Housing Association, Beech Housing Association or Chorley Community Housing* can join the Adactus500 to take part in activities such as postal or online questionnaires, online chats, focus group meetings, scrutiny panel meetings and text messaging. When they first join-up, Adactus500 members tell us about the areas of our work that interest them the most. This makes sure that we only contact Adactus500 members about consultations or activities that they are likely to want to do.
There is no pressure to get involved in every consultation or activity we make available. Adactus500 members can take part in as many or few as they like.
In return for completed consultations or activities, Adactus500 members earn points which can be exchanged for a variety of rewards.
It can all be done through the Adactus500 website. If residents do not have access to the internet, residents can contact us to register to take part by post. However, only a limited number of key consultations will be posted out, and so residents are requested to sign up online if they possibly can to make sure they have the chance to complete the most activities. Key consultations are defined as “consultation on a policy that would directly affect the service received by all residents”.
In 2016 we introduced premium membership to alow residents to level up once they have completed 5 photo tasks. Premium members are given the opportunity to submit many more activities.
*unless they are in breach of their tenancy and subject to legal action.
We award points for every activity completed. Point levels vary according to how much time commitment is required. From time to time we may adjust the points available if we need to change the incentives offered.
In return for completed consultations or activities, Adactus500 members earn points which can be exchanged for a variety of vouchers to pay for grocery shopping, leisure activities and even charity donations. The vouchers currently on offer are:
Adactus500 members can also choose to redeem their points as a credit on their rent account.
Adactus500 members can redeem their points easily through the Adactus500 website. If they do not have access to the internet, points can be redeemed by telephone via the Connect contact centre.

In April 2015 we launched the mobile version of the Adactus500 allowing people to take part direct from their smartphone. We’ve also introduced photo tasks to make use of this technology.
