Miles Platting PFI strikes gold
Our Miles Platting PFI project was awarded GOLD for Best Operational Project at the 2017 Partnerships Awards. Every year, the prestigious awards help celebrate achievements and best practice in Public Private Partnerships (PPP).
Our project stood out particularly for effective partnership working and the quality of the refurbishment work that was completed on budget and ahead of schedule.
The Miles Platting PFI also highlighted how good community engagement can help partnerships flourish and enable all parties to prosper. Resident satisfaction with the neighbourhood has risen from 69.9% in 2007 to 89% in 2016.
Suzanne Bullock, Assistant Director of Housing Services said: ”Winning this award is fantastic. What a great achievement to be recognised with a Gold award on the year we are celebrating our 10th anniversary since we started work on the project back in 2007. The large number of residents satisfied with our services demonstrates that we really can make a difference. We are only a third of the way into the PFI and we will carry on with the same spirit and momentum making Miles Platting a place that residents our proud to live in.”
All the judges agreed that our project demonstrated great partnership working between the different parties and had fantastic engagement with Miles Platting residents. The judges pointed out that the regeneration had had significant benefits to the economy and had also seen an increase in Right to Buy applications in the area.
